Peute Recycling specializes in recycling plastics and wastepaper, including newspapers, magazines, and cardboard packaging. These materials are repurposed and returned to the global manufacturing industry.
Peute is growing rapidly. The 60-year-old company wants this growth to be marked by a commitment to sustainable development. Inland Terminals Group’s terminal played a pivotal role in their decision to move to Alblasserdam. “A special road will lead from our site to the terminal,” explains Peute’s director, John van den Heuvel, in an interview with Algemeen Dagblad. “Electric terminal tractors will transport containers to and from the quay. From there, the containers will either head to the port of Rotterdam or further into Europe. Each inland vessel can carry thirty to sixty containers, reducing daily truck journeys by 250 to 300 trips on the A15. That’s an enormous reduction of CO2 emissions.”
Peute will move into its new premises on October 1, 2023. The Inland Terminals Group eagerly awaits the arrival of these new ‘neighbours’ and is excited to embark on this collaboration.
